Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you do piercings?

A. We do not provide piercing services; however, if you call the shop, we can recommend professional piercers in the area, 916-312-TAT2

Q. What payment methods do you accept?

A. We’re primarily a cash only shop; however, with all of the new payment apps available, some artists do take certain app based payment methods with their smart phones such as Venmo or ApplePay.

Q. Do you accept walk-ins?

A. We do accept walk-ins.

Q. How old do you have to be to get tattooed?

A. You must be 18 years of age with photo ID or drivers license.

Q. How do I go about scheduling an appointment for my tattoo?

A. If you know what artist you’d like to get tattooed by, you can either stop by the shop to schedule a consultation/appointment, or you can click the consultation button above or at the bottom of this page to send us a request.

Q. What is the tattoo deposit used for?

A. Many folks misunderstand what the deposit goes towards. Some people seem to think that it is payment for the drawing. If this were the case, the money would not go toward the cost of the completed tattoo. The deposit is simply to reserve the date and time slot that was agreed upon with you and your artist. The money is used as a place holder so that no-one else can take that time from you and your artist.

Q. Why is the deposit non-refundable?

A. Other people may want that same time slot in the calendar. Your artist may have opportunities to tattoo those people. When someone doesn’t show up for their scheduled appointment, it’s not only lost money from the client, but it’s also lost time and potential money that could have been made from someone else who inquired about that same time slot. This is why the deposit is non-refundable when there is a cancellation or ‘no call-no show’ for an appointment. The deposit DOES come off of the price of the completed tattoo or tattoo session.

Q. What should I bring with me for my first tattoo experience?

A. Bring cash and your Photo ID/Drivers license or passport. We are required to check and document your age with a photo ID card that includes your date of birth and photo. You must be at least 18 years old to receive a tattoo. Without this criteria, we will not tattoo you even if you are of age, as it is a requirement to record this information.

Q. How should I prepare for my tattoo session?

A. Come well rested if possible. Avoid partying before your appointment. Getting tattooed while hungover can create issues with healing and weaken your immune system. Make sure to give yourself time to eat before your appointment and try to stay well hydrated with water prior to showing up for your appointment. Drugs and or alcohol are never a good idea. Our artists reserve the right to refuse tattoo service to anyone who is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Tattoo Aftercare

Q. How do I take care of my tattoo when I get home?

Disposable bandage or plastic wrap:

A. If your tattoo was covered in a disposable bandage or plastic wrap, you’ll need to remove the bandage after an hour or two from your tattoo session. Do not let the bandage stay on longer than two hours. Remove the bandage and dispose of it. DO NOT reuse the bandage. Gently wash the tattoo with warm water and a mild soap. Dry off the tattoo with a paper towel or clean towel. Let the tattoo breathe and avoid bumping the tattoo or touching the tattoo with your hands. Avoid pet dander, hair, and animal saliva from licking the tattoo. Wear loose fitting breathable clothing once the bandage has been removed.

Saniderm air tight water tight adhesive bandage:

A. If your tattoo was covered in Saniderm, you will need to keep the bandage on for 3 to 5 days. After that time, it may be slightly difficult to peel the bandage off. Running warm water over the bandage will help loosen the adhesive while peeling the bandage off.

Q. How do I take care of my tattoo once it’s healed?

A. Avoid UV rays for the life of the tattoo. Applying sunblock prior to heavy sun exposure or tanning bed use will prevent the tattoo from fading over time.
